They’re pretty bloody special to me!⁣

You see, my besties had a dream to build a hotel in paradise.⁣
⁣
They bought the land, designed the plans and worked and saved to get enough cash to start building.⁣
⁣
They started small and stayed consistent (the secret to how you make anything work) by creating what they could with what they had.⁣
⁣
First up was a bamboo lodge, complete with an enchanting spiral staircase that delivers you to 18 beds suspended from the roof. Each bed encased in its own net, overlooking the island jungle paradise.⁣
⁣
A whole-foods cafe that makes your mouth water when you reminisce about their menu.⁣
⁣
The coolest pool on all of Gili Air! Not only because of it’s lush setting, it is literal temperature goals amidst the balmy weather.⁣
⁣
Once they had those three key elements locked down and were returning a profit, they moved onto stage 2, 3 & 4.⁣
⁣
Adding five one bedroom bungalows (which I’m joyfully sitting on the porch of one of those) and a 2 bedroom family villa.⁣
⁣
The dream of @captaincoconutsgili now fully supports them and their 22 strong Coconut Crew and their families. ⁣
⁣
COVID may have made them close their doors for the moment, but the love is still being shared. ⁣
⁣

I’ve held off on the throwback photos but I changed my mind. There are enough shots I haven’t posted from my camera reel to last a lifetime. ⁣

I’m going to sprinkle in a couple a week till iso is over (and yep, us Aussies shorten everything... iso = isolation).⁣
⁣
I for one am craving travel inspiration for when we can sail away again. What about you?⁣

While we navigate our way through this uncertainty, let's focus on what we do have so it strengthens and grows.⁣
⁣
The extra time we have to go all-in on being fully present in our relationships with ourselves, our family and our friends.⁣
⁣
The time we have to slow down and choose what each of us needs right now. Whether that be; time to rest, to refocus, to create, to upskill and to step up into our fullness. Choose you and the thing you've been wanting to do but have never prioritised.⁣
⁣
Look at how the earth is healing and focus on her beauty, she is going through a transformation and I can't wait to see what she reveals when we come out of our bubble.⁣
⁣
Humanity is coming together too and constructing a community that thrives from us being kind to each other and showing up from love. ⁣
⁣
People that are critical to our survival are showing up day in and day out and trading their time to help us withstand this. Show appreciation and constant gratitude to them so they know they are supported.⁣
⁣
Leadership is all you. If you're not in a crucial role, set an example by staying home and social distancing so we can help the people supporting us to flatten the curve. ⁣
⁣
While each of us has different circumstances and challenges we are being faced with, we are all in this together.⁣
⁣
